Jaghut Woman

Personal project creating my own female Jaghut from Steven Eriksons "Malazan Books of the Fallen". I run an RPG game set in the world of the books, and rather than using a named character I made up my own grumpy Jaghut woman for the players to interact with.
She live in a dangerous magical home called an Azath House. Unable to leave the house for hundreds if not thousands of years her hair has matted, she doesn't really bother wearing cloths (Jaghut in the books often don't either) and she smells terrible. The idea being that she knows a lot of information the players might want, but she will only trade this information for goods and services. This might be some better cloths, a way of cutting her hair, a dagger and other weapons, armour and a three course meal, oh an someone needs to fix the bathtub.

In my mind Jaghut are very lean creatures with green skin. Talking to more of the fans for feedback I found most picture the "Olive Green" skin more brown side. She grew in hight a lot as well, the problems with using human proportions as a reference.

I had to use a whole host of reference images to try and get the body correct. To try and give the inhuman feel I used the Trolls from World of Warcraft as a touch stone. The woman on the left was the first reference from the skinnier design.

Trying to make sure the bone structure was not too human was an interesting challenge, also how fans envisioned the tusks varies a lot.

Personally like drawing flat-chested woman, especially if they are athletic, but too many people sent me quotes of "heavy breasted" Jaghut with page numbers for me to ignore.

An experiment with a different kind of skirt. I wanted her to really just be wearing an old sack, but it is hard to find reference images of people wearing those. The more detailed skirt however didn't fit the homeless and doesn't really care look I want.

Adding extra detail and trying to get the lighting right. Added a frosty effect as the Jaghut use Ice Magic. I'm still not happy with the skirt. Anyone know good tutorials for ice magic effects :)
